Liverpool Bone and Joint Centre are proudly sponsoring the kit for The Grange School.

After stunning performances in the regional qualifiers no fewer than five teams from The Grange School were invited to compete in the recent English Schools Ski Association National Finals at the Norfolk Ski Centre in Norwich.

Each team in the competition consisted of three or four racers who each completed two slalom runs. The team result was the sum of the three fastest times from each run, so the team of three racers had no margin for error.

The Under 12 Boys team achieved an excellent fifth place finish despite being the youngest racers in the age division and the added pressure of only being a team of three.

Two teams qualified in the U14 Girls and achieved an amazing 7th place in this category. Meanwhile, the other team in this category again had the pressure of being a team of only three and all needing to complete both runs. They all rose to the challenge and achieved a 4th place in this group.

The under 14 Boys team came away with a 7th place finish and the Under 19 Boys team put in a phenomenal performance to achieve 10th place out of 35 teams and 135 skiers. They also managed to reproduce this form the next day in the Open Boys Category. This has earned them an invitation to Edinburgh to participate in the British Schools Ski Championships.

Our consultant surgeons are always keen to support local talent and to date have supported a number of amateur teams such as the Grange School Ski team and the Woolton Vinci’s Football team as they believe that through encouraging youngsters to achieve their sporting potential we are investing in their future and perhaps nurturing the next generation of Olympic athletes or premiership players.
