Mr Santini attends the Orthopaedic Portfolio Day at The Royal College of Surgeons of England

On 17th November, Alasdair Santini attended the Orthopaedic Portfolio Day at The Royal College of Surgeons of England in London. The meeting brought together the directors of the various College courses to plan for the future direction of orthopaedic education.

Mr Santini runs the Operative Skills in Orthopaedics course. He outlined the course details to the group and lead a discussion as to where it fitted within the general orthopaedic curriculum as well as speaking about his experience of regionalisation of the course together with what lessons could be learnt that may be used by other course directors. He outlined his plans to upgrade the Operative Skills course and plans for expansion in line with the College objective of extending courses beyond London.

The meeting was felt to be a great success by all directors who agreed on a plan for the future development of orthopaedic courses for all levels of surgeons.
